MEET MS.ANDREA
Hello, I’m Hair by Dre.
I’ve been a licensed cosmetologist for 17 years. I went to hair school right after high school. I love love love this industry and love the fact that’s it’s always changing, evolving, and I literally never stop growing and learning something new.
I’ve struggled with hair loss since I was about 14. My hair on the temples and sides would fall out super easy. It would grow really long and full but then fall out and get thin just as fast.
Wanting to look good and feel normal I turned to weaves then wigs (when they became popular) and since then I wouldn’t be caught without a weave on my head to cover up the hair loss issues I was dealing with.
I went to many hair stylist, many dermatologists and no one could help me with the issues I was having. I was either told to stop wearing the weaves, use this shampoo and this oil which cause more issues then I previously had.
When I was 30 I was diagnosed with PCOS after years of struggling with weight gain, hair loss and unwanted facial hair. So I know a thing or two about how no matter what I do or what I try hair growth and length retention hasn’t always been the easiest thing for me to achieve.
Working behind the chair full time in 2019, I meet so many clients who just wanted more. They were getting their hair done on a regular basis but wasn’t really seeing any true changes to their hair. Their hair looked great when styled but their hair wasn’t growing or getting healthier at a rate they would have liked it to. They had hopes their hair could be better just wasn’t sure how.
Eager to help my clients and myself I started doing some research to see what could help my clients achieve their hair goals.
I started adding scalp exfoliating treatments, micromist treatments and incorporating different products lines in the salon that I felt may help.
In 2023, I took a tricologlogy class Trichology Class in Charlotte so I could gain more knowledge and education to help provide me more in-depth knowledge to help all my clients.
Since then I have been working with sooo many clients to help combat their scalp issues, hair loss issues, length retention and more.
With my holistic stance on healthy hair and growth is it requires us working together as a TEAM. The only way it has been successful if for us both work as a team to overcome and resolve each and every concern and issue. As it requires being consistent, being patience and having realistic expectations.
